Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
An informal, easy-to-drink wine with medium aromatic intensity rallied mostly around fragrant fresh fruit, white stone and Mediterranean herbs. The structure is lean and the acidity is bright: You can’t ask for more.

Light in color and thin in extraction, this Cannonau opens with aromas of forest berry, red candy, blue flowers, white stone, fennel seed and walnut nuttiness. There’s enough dimension and structure here to pair with roasted pork, fried chicken or cheese-topped pasta.

Beautiful intensity surrounds this linear, compact and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas include berry fruit, balsamic notes, iron-earthy tones and chopped herbs. Nice harmony, good flavors and long persistency; this is a highly recommended wine that boasts the best of its Mediterranean roots.

Here is a fresh and fragrant Vermentino with mineral and saline notes that form a pretty frame to citrus and exotic fruit. This is an easy-drinking wine with crisp acidity and a refreshing feel overall.

You’ll get granite notes here and crushed mineral backed by creamy apricot and peach. The wine rests on the lees to achieve better structure and richness: pair it with shellfish or poultry.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This offers an excellent opportunity to taste Sardinia’s Torbato grape. The flavors are inviting and intense, including yellow fruit, nuts, roasted chestnuts and honey. Bottom line: It’s a wine with loads of personality.

Tanca is the Sardinian word for “closed,” and farrà means “iron.” This important wine (a 50-50 blend of Cannonau and Cabernet Sauvignon) is the product of clay and iron-rich soils. The wine is dark and dense with lingering flavors of black cherry and exotic spice.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Because this wine is made from a 50-50 blend of Cab Sauvignon and Cannonau, you could call it a “Super-Sardinian.” Everything about the nose and mouthfeel are pretty much super anyways; from its abundant aromas of red fruit, dried herbs, licorice, mint and toast to its firm tannins and excellent length. The wine ages three years in oak.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon that has been sweetened and softened by the warm Sardinian sunshine. The wine is elegant and fine with aromas of spice, blackberry and tobacco. The mouthfeel is firm but also smooth.

Loaded with fresh pineapple and grapefruit from beginning to end, this zestful Sardinian white delights throughout. A real waker-upper; it’s an admirable foil for any grilled fish but would be especially so for grilled lobster.
