A difficult wine. The aroma is okay, with lots of ripe cherry, mint and leather scents, but it turns supertart in the mouth, and stings with unbalanced acidity.

A rustic, country-style Zin with good structure. Has simple, fruity-berry flavors of cherry cola and red raspberry jam and durable tannins, but is overly sweet—almost sugary—especially in the finish. —S.H.
