I've criticized Napa Cab Franc as too one-dimensional to bottle on its own, but this wine is so fruity, so charming that it borders on the exception to the rule. It's a soft, complex beauty, silky and delicate, brimming with cherry and oak flavors and a lovely, elegant finish.

A clearly defined varietal nose greets you, and the wine enters the palate with authority and vigor. It is precision- sculpted, with nuances—well integrated—of earth and herb and a hint of stem. It’s wrapped into elegant fruit flavors of plum and black cherry that fill in the finish.

Very deep and rich nose, lots of black cherry aromas, jammy, pepper, chocolate, and licorice, heavy-handed aromas; very rich and smooth in the mouth; same jammy characteristics abound; this is obviously made with very ripe fruit; lots of sugar; smooth and silky but no sense of terroir here; more typical of the New World Pinots with the richness and alcohol, but otherwise indistinguishable one from the other.
