This petite Syrah is sweet and rich nose, lots of tobacco and hints of rubber bands, peppery with a hint of mint, licorice, chocolate and caramel; spicy and sweet in the mouth, good balance though with nicely placed acidity and soft tannins; long peppery finish, a bit hot and aggressive, but the peppery finish is pleasant on the palate. This is one of the more impressive Cabernet-based wines from California, fabulous complex nose, sweet and minty, chocolate and sweet herbs, green pepper, very aromatic and perfumed with black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, great depth; fabulous in the mouth with smooth and deep flavors, blueberry, blackberry, and cherry flavors; integrated tannins; real sense of small berries here with concentrated flavors, black currants; very focused and expressive; this wine deserves the reputation that it has.
