Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Dark, soft and rich, this single-vineyard Pinot brims with deep, almost brooding flavors of red currants, cherries, red plums, mocha and dusty spices. It also has an edge of tannins that will help it negotiate a good steak. Drink over the next several years.

Showcases its terroir in the brisk acidity and light but complex body that wraps bitter cherry and coffee flavors. Bone dry, the wine will be a fine accompaniment to salmon or duck, simply prepared.

Marked by crisp acidity and very ripe flavors of cherry pie filling, red currants, cocoa and cola, with a grilled smokiness throughout. Elegant and silky, if a bit direct. Give it a year or two to mellow.

Here’s a minerally, acidic, very dry Chard with a firm structure. Slightly earthy, it has citrus fruit, smoky oak and spice flavors, with a wet stone, metallic tang in the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A little on the soft, heavy side, with weighty tannins framing ripe, almost overripe, cherry-berry flavors that finish with a raisiny taste. But the wine is dry and has a nice, silky mouthfeel.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Tangy acidity marks this dry wine. It gives a prickly sensation to the pineapple, peach and pear fruit flavors, almost as if it were slightly sparkling. Not unpleasant, just offbeat.
