Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A Rhône-style blend of Garnacha (Grenache), Mourvèdre, Tempranillo, Syrah and Graciano, this pretty wine is soft and dry. It has an earthy, dried herb taste, with suggestions of cherries, and is rich and complex enough to serve with special foods.

Not sure if Stevenot meant this to be a dry table wine, but it has so much sugar I’m classifying it as a dessert wine. It’s not bad, with apricot, peach, vanilla and honey flavors, but forewarned is forearmed.

Superfruity and jammy, with fresh cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavors that fill the mouth and finish long and peppery-spicy. Full-bodied and dry, with big, thick tannins, it’s a nice wine for a char-broiled sirloin steak.

Young in tannins now, this is a big, dry wine, but quite fruity. Floods the palate with pomegranate, black cherry and earthy flavors that last into the finish. Will improve for a few years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a nice, cheerful blush wine, but you should chill it well to stun the slight sweetness, which makes it a little insipid. Icy cold, it’s refreshing, with strawberry, raspberry and vanilla flavors.

Quite an interesting Cab with lots to like. Rich in currants and blackberries, with a feel that borders on chalky cocoa. Smooth; finishes sweet in fruit and oak.

Stevenot Cabernet Sauvignon - 2000

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a blush wine made primarily from the Spanish variety, Tempranillo. It’s fairly dark for a rosé and quite full-bodied in cherry jam, pepper and vanilla flavors, while a splash of Albariño adds needed acidity and the bright taste of citrus.

Stevenot Rosé - 2007

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
I wish this wine were drier because it has polished citrus, floral and mineral flavors and a rich, pronounced acidity. But it’s sugary throughout.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
There’s lots of richness in this full-bodied wine from the Sierra Foothills region. It’s fruit-forward, with oak-influenced black currant, cherry and cocoa flavors that finish with elegance.

A bit rustic, with jagged tannins and sweet-and-sour blackberry, red currant and mint flavors. Tannins make for an astringent finish.
