This new winery is the project of the winemaker for Panther Creek, who also serves as consulting winemaker for Shea Vineyards. Here again the bright, spicy Pinot fruit, with its lovely mix of red and black berry flavors, takes front and center stage. There is plenty of lively acid, some well-managed tannins, and a whiff of black pepper. It was aged in all neutral oak, and the only thing missing is just that pleasing finish of mocha toast that would take the wine to the next level.
