Another of the micro producers that Ken Hausmann produces to baffle me from time-to-time; this one is deep and intense with rich powerful aromas, tar and jammy cherry fruit, fresh acidity, rubber, oriental spice aromas; big flavors, intense and heavily extracted I suspect; intense flavors of black currants, brambleberries, cherries; lots of dry tannins at this stage, but there is ample fruit to make the wine palatable; hot and spicy at the finish; a classic of the California “cult” style.
