This limited production wine (450 cases) reflects the new quality syrahs that are being produced in California; wonderful, complex nose very reminiscent of Rhône Valley wines, aromas of smoked meat and herbs, sage, black pepper mixed with liberal amounts of black cherries; smoky, sweet and ripe in the mouth, rich and smooth with gobs of fruit and spices, layered between flavors of earth and cedar; this is quite complex and sophisticated; long finish, powerful and elegant at the same time.
