Very sweet and soft nose, but also intense and loaded with black fruits and licorice, leather and the sauvage character so often missing in the New World syrahs; sweet fruit in the front of the mouth, but loaded with bulked-up tannins; green herbs and earthen flavors; a bit dry and tough at the end; I’m not sure that this wine has the balance to emerge out of its shell in the future.
