Pale straw in color, with a fine bead, this looks good even prior to tasting. Delicate aromas of brioche toast, apples and citrus fruits give way to ripe apple flavors married to notes of egg-enriched dough. It's medium in body, creamy-textured, yet still fresh enough to hold another five or so years, evidenced by its crisp finish.

A gloriously rich rosé that is full of ripe raspberries that burst in the mouth. It has a tight texture, balanced by a rounded feel. It is still young, of course, and the sweet finish needs time to integrate. Even so, relish the wine now, or wait 3–4 years.

Pale straw in color with a fine bead. As always, this is an elegant, distinctive and impeccably crisp Champagne. It is the epitome of stylish; tightly focused, it gently unwraps itself into a graceful, immaculately clean finish that’s lightly toasty and hints at coconut and vanilla wafer.

Made only from grand cru vineyards, this latest release from Taittinger is in a crisp and dry style, profiting from ripe fruit, lifted with citrus and kiwi fruit flavors, a pure line of acidity and a hint of soft toast.

A fine, very pure style of Champagne. Has hints of toast and citrus fruits that come together in a style that is almost the essence of Champagne. Crisp, rich and complex. Imported by Kobrand.

In the strange world of Champagne, Sec (dry) on the label means a wine that is less dry than Brut. It is more to do with fullness and weight than sugar. This wine bears ripe fruit, flavors of peaches, creamy pears and light nougat and spice character. Pair this with richly sauced foods.

A touch of age on the nose; some will like the dusty, musty quality, others won’t. Herbal flavors and a flinty note. Good mouthfeel. Finishes medium full and a bit tangy. Good but not that lively.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A lightly creamy rosé, this wine merely hints at, rather than broadcasts, its component flavors. Everything is in balance, but oddly pale—the fruit could be anything, and the wine itself seems a bit dumbed down. But nothing is off, and it finishes spicy and refreshing.

Light, fruity and clean, with aromatic hints of clover and wildflower. Subdued but forward in the mouth, with good apple and tangerine qualities. Apple and seltzer carry the finish. Well made, but quiet. Fits the bill.

A blend made entirely from grand cru vineyards, this is a superbly ripe, full wine; a very different, richer one from the normally light Taittinger style. A great Champagne, impressive and worth aging. Imported by Kobrand.
