One sniff delivers berry aromas and a blast of maple, but alongside that there’s some barnyard and funk. When you accept that it’s Italian Syrah some of the herbal, funky qualities become more understandable; still, you have to be able to deal with the leather, spice, tannin and aggressiveness or it won’t be your bag.
