This is a very likeable Barbera d’Asti Superiore executed in a plush, modern style with loads of soft fruit and sweet spice in the bouquet. Chocolate, espresso and blackberry fruit appear and the wine is bright and firm on the close. You need that extra acidity to balance against the wine’s thickly extracted texture.
