Martinenga is one of the most celebrated vineyard crus for top-shelf Barbaresco and Marchesi di Gresy puts aside a section from this site to make this less formal expression of Nebbiolo. Approachable and bright, the wine shows bright berry and cooling cola aromas.

There’s a certain elegance to this Dolcetto that distinguishes it in a crowd. The fruit element is bright and strong and the wine shows generous layers of raspberry and cherry on the close.

From one of the most simpatico producers in Piedmont, Marchesi di Gresy’s bright Berbera d’Asti opens with a dark, browning color and inky aromas of mineral and black fruit. The finish is surprising bright and lively.

Very purple and quite extracted, but rather tight now. The nose displays violet and spice notes. Deep black fruit on the palate, with a good mouthfeel. Very big for Dolcetto, and quite young. Should improve with a year or two in the bottle.

This special cru selection Barbaresco offers enormous intensity and persistency of flavor. This is a supremely elegant wine with ethereal aromas of cassis, tar, licorice and root beer. There’s tannic structure and a fine texture here and the wine should age well for many more years.
