Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Despite the initial sharp edge, this does develop into a fresh, fruity style of wine. The one problem is that the bottling of the sample tasted seems too recent, and it needs several months to ripen and blend. Keep for 3–6 months.

A finely structured, balanced Champagne, its citric and green plum fruit flavors fitting well within some full acidity. Everything is fresh but integrated, with an elegant, rich and refreshing finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A wine that is showing a toasty, mature view of the 1999 vintage. There are flavors of soft almonds, a smooth texture and a final, soft richness. While this is unlikely to develop much further, it is an impressive, ripe, food-friendly wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is 100% Pinot Noir, which gives richness to the wine. It is generous, with red apple and pear flavors, still very fresh. An attractive final bite says that it will age.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Gamins in French are the kids, and this wine has been produced by Alain Thienot’s children, Stainlas and Garance, from a small parcel of vines. The kids did well, because this is an impressively structured wine, full of the crispest Chardonnay, worth aging for 5–6 years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A yeasty, toasty wine, with the white fruits playing second fiddle to the mature notes. The wine is rich, soft and rounded, hinting at potential development, but surprisingly ready to drink now.
