Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This plump blend of Cab Sauvignon, Merlot and Cab Franc is raw in places but carries a pretty tune of blueberry, spice and smoked ham. The deep ruby color is glorious and the wine ends with firm tannins.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Inky concentration and pretty sweet cherry come right at you thanks to the natural intensity of this Merlot-Cabernet-Petit Verdot blend. The wine’s thick fruitiness extends deep and wide over the palate, giving it a distinct personality. The tannins are still a bit tight; drink after 2010.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a pleasurable and decadent 85-15 blend of Sangiovese and Merlot with inky tones of black fruit, pencil lead, leather, tobacco and spice. The wine shows a touch of mature fruit and offers smooth tannins over a juicy, succulent mouthfeel.

Valdisanti opens with inviting aromas of sweet spice, vanilla, blackberry and chocolate. It’s a soft and velvety wine with just the right touch of tannic firmness at the end to give it structure and staying power. This is a food-friendly blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Forward but comfortable, with dark fruit, forest and bacon aromas. It’s dominated by Cabernet, with Merlot and Cab Franc playing in the background. Ripe, tasty and sweet, with black cherry and raspberry hitting with some force. Arguably a bit oaky and close, but still very good

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
There’s a meaty element here of ripe fruit, beef jerky and smoked bacon. Background notes include clove, exotic spice, toasted nut and barbecue smoke. This Merlot (65%), Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot blend offers a dense, chewy consistency and mature berry flavors on the close. We loved the 2004 vintage, but this edition is on the overripe side.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Not as intense as other Tolaini wines, this Sangiovese (with 15% Merlot) doles out measured portions of prune, plum, black cherry, leather, resin and tobacco. In the mouth, it has cherry flavors, dense tannins and a long finish.
