This vineyard-designate Valpolicella exhibits aromas of dried rose petal, bee’s wax and lavender soap. It’s a fresh and easygoing wine with a relaxing personality and loads of charm.

This Amarone offers a very distinctive and evolved nose that recalls espresso grinds, cola and tealeaf with menthol-balsam renderings. Dark concentration, power and great intensity are reinforced by thick berry flavors, coffee and excellent durability on the palate.

A light, easily enjoyed red, this is Valpolicella at its most basic, quaffing level. Dried spices accent leather and cherry flavors, mixing in hints of earth and citrus on the finish. A fine choice for picnics or casual lunches.

Tommasi is a Veneto-based winery with an innovative property in Tuscany that produces a complete range of wines including this sun-drenched Vermentino. There’s slightly more heft and density here, suggesting a pairing with white meat or ham.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Starts off a bit horsey and leathery, but has ample depth of fruit lurking behind. Dark plum and earth flavors are tinged with meat on the palate. Shows good complexity and a long, supple finish. Drink now and over the next few years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Here’s a luminous blend of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Garganega with mature aromas of pine nut, mature fruit, apricot and yellow rose. The wine is very creamy and smooth in the mouth and has the natural consistency to stand up to fish or pasta. The finish is crisp and slightly sweet.

there's been a renaissance in Soave, and tasty, inexpensive wines like this one are the result. There's a burst of fruit opn the nose, ranging from melon and pear to white peaches and almonds, a plump, medium-weight presence on the palate and some citrusy length to the finish. A solid choice for holiday entertaining and into the warmer months ahead.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
You’ll feel the heat in this sun-drenched Amarone that offers a chewy consistency and a pleasingly firm but smooth texture. Aroma-wise, there’s a lot going on: First are notes of mature cherry fruit, but there are also green, almost eucalyptus-like renderings. On top of those are coffee, bacon and cocoa.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a thick, masculine Amarone with dense extraction and soda- like qualities of root beer, smoked bacon, A1 Steak Sauce and beef jerky. It delivers enormous power and concentration followed by a thick, meaty feel.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a very ripe blend of Garganega (84%) and Chardonnay that recalls mature melon and sun-ripened apricot. It’s a bit sticky and syrupy in the mouth but has loads of peach and pear to keep you satisfied.
