Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A more weighty, mineral interpretation, with upfront red fruit that transitions to an edgy, pear-inflected palate with good concentration. Signs off with a final note of crushed raspberries. This one will last through the winter but should be drunk up before the summer of 2011.

Triennes Rosé - 2009

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Triennes is a collaboration of two Burgundian masters—Jacques Seysses (Domaine Dujac) and Aubert de Villaine (Domaine de la Romanée-Conti)—who together purchased a run-down estate in the south of France back in 1990. The wines have steadily improved, yet the prices remain reasonable. This 100% tank-fermented Viognier shows impressive richness and texture allied to flavors of ripe apricots and peaches, plus a dash of Viognier’s trademark floral aromas. Despite its weight, there’s sufficient acidity to keep it lively.

Triennes Viognier - 2000

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Made by heavy hitters from Burgundy-Aubert de Villaine, who runs Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and Jacques Seysses, who owns Domaine Dujac. Although the wine bears little resemblance to either, it is still pretty toothsome. Lots of spicy fruit, with length.
