Pretty sulfury on the nose, but it begins to blow off after an hour in the glass. Underneath, the wine is big-boned but slightly hollow, with herbal accents to the cherry fruit.

Very fresh and appealing in its lean, citrusy flavors of orange and lime. This Chard finishes hard and tart enough to cut through fatty foods or act as a mouthwatering apéritif.

Named after a nearly extinct species of lizard said to be dinosaur-like, this is more of what we’ve come to expect from New Zealand: another well-made Sauvignon Blanc with grassy, herbal aromatics and lime and grapefruit flavors.
