Peach, mild apple and tropical fruit notes prevail in this light, lean white. No problems here, just doesn't emphatically grab the senses. Maybe an understated manner causes it to recede in a rather vibrant crowd. Still, it's a good match for salads, closing clean, with mild white pepper notes.

Oak runs rampant here, swamping the dark red berry fruit with ashphalt, licorice and toast, toast, toast. The modest fruit is hard to find. Quite dry and not well-balanced, with overtly woody tannins.

The colorless appearance of this wine extends to its very delicate and dilute style. Marshmallow, mango, coconut water and orange blossom carry to the palate, with a hint of licorice and grassiness on the finish.

Fresh hay, light tropical fruit and dried herb sachet aromas repeat on the palate with less depth. The finish is herby, clean and maybe the most outstanding element when compared to the undistinguished fruit.

Cherry and apple peel aromas are veiled in caramel and light brown sugar. The cherry and apple transform on the palate, coming across as tawny-red fruit with toasty caramel. The finish is vegetal.

A handsome, mid-weight white with tasty apple-oak flavors supported by ample acidity. There's a ripe, even feel, while spice accents and tropical fruit notes keep it lively and engaging. Closes with more tangy spice, subtle mineral hints. The name reads 'ooyt-kick' to Anglo eyes, but from the Afrikaans, it's pronounced more like 'ate-cake.'
