While the Reserva version of this wine is rich and complex, this “normal” cuvée seems to be one-dimensional. The fruit is rich, certainly, but with flavors of green vegetables and tomatoes, it seems not fully ripe. The tannins bite through the texture, rather than supporting it. Drink soon.

From pure Touriga Nacional, this is already mature, with earthy overtones coming through to give leather aromas and flavors that are moving into spice, sweet wood and dark coffee. It has a great smooth texture with delicious final acidity.

There is definitely power and concentration here, with a wine that shows a dark texture of black fruits, layered with a stony structure and dusty tannins. The richness is evident, with acidity promising good aging potential.
