Frappato is a lighter, fruitier red grape that could almost be described as Sicily’s Pinot Noir. The aromas are of berry fruit and are delicate and feminine. Simple, lean and spicy-crisp on the finish, this is an un-oaked alternative to Sicily’s powerhouse reds. Imported by Panebianco.

There are soft, marzipan-like nuances in Il Moro that are very characteristic of Sicily’s Nero d’Avola grape. Spice and toast appear in the background, adding contours and dimension to the wine’s crisp cherry flavors. The beauty of this wine is that it sees no wood and the final result is pure and fresh.

Case Ibidini, the informal line of wines from Valle d’Acate, offers ripe fruit flavors of cherry liqueur and raspberry jam. This easy Sicilian red would make a good pairing companion to pork chops or grilled sausage with green peppers and onions.

This is a very successful Insolia-Chardonnay blend that is creamy in the mouth— like a banana smoothie—and nicely layered with peach pie, exotic spice, pineapple and tomato leaf aromas. Imported by Panebianco.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Ripe and powerful, this is a big, bold, unfiltered Sicilian red that delivers dried figs, tobacco and berry preserves. It’s almost too much of a good thing and will appeal to those looking to make a statement. Imported by Panebianco.

Very in line with traditional Cerasuolo di Vittoria, this ruby-colored wine offers pretty berry nuances, with raspberry and blueberry followed by delicate almond flavors. The wine is lean and crisp and would pair well with fish couscous or eggplant caponata.
