You read that correctly: This wine has no vintage on the label nor a specific appellation. And what about the wine itself? It’s flowery, almost artificial, in the nose—it literally smells like a powdered drink mix. In the mouth, the plum fruit is candied, while the body is bulky.

This bubby isn’t technically cava, but it tastes a lot like standard cava. It’s heady and yeasty, with dusty popcorn and bread dough aromas. The lemony palate is on the thin side, as is the tight, lean finish. A decent palate prep or cleanser, depending on how you approach it. —M.S.

Movie popcorn, peanuts and sugared breakfast cereal dominate the heavy, overbearing nose. In the mouth, it’s plump and sticky, with apple and pear fruit. Adequate, but lacks elegance and precision.

The ultimate Spanish table wine in that it has no vintage and is likely a blend of bulk wines from various regions. Yet it’s not bad; raspberry and cherry aromas and flavors are decent, while the finish is crisp, dry and fairly clean.
