Darker, denser and more raisiny than your average varietal Graciano, this wine is almost pruney and horsey. But it settles down to offer solid but chunky black plum, prune and balsamic flavors. The finish is stocky but not flabby. Meaty and solid for Graciano. Imported by Baron Francois Ltd.

Decent aromas but overly acidic and astringent. The cherry flavor is so sour that any vanilla or oak that may come on late can’t save the day. Imported by Baron Francois Ltd.

The bouquet begins with uncanny aromas of Italian bitters before turning fat and sweet. The palate is thin and stretched out, with flavors of strawberry and citrus zest. Sort of spicy but more stripped down and dull than exciting. Imported by Baron Francois Collection.

The nose contains beet, fir and air freshener aromas, while the acidic palate pumps red plum and raspberry without any restraint. Tannic, racy and hard.

Plum and blackberry aromas seem a little oily and undefined, while the palate is full, black, tannic, jammy and tastes of black cherry and/or plum syrup. This is a good wine but not a great one, and at the price you might expect more depth, definition and character than what it gives.

Big and heavy, with forceful aromas of shoe polish, tar and balsam wood. It’s saturated and dense in the mouth, but the cherry and blackberry flavors are tart and underdeveloped. And the finish falls off fast. Imported by Baron Francois Ltd.
