Sardasol has a good track record with rosé, and the 2007 is a clean wine with a light pink luster and brash cherry and raspberry aromas. The wine is incredibly fresh and zesty, with orange and nectarine flavors. Nothing is out of place on this perfectly good and sprightly example of Navarran rosado.

Light cherry and raspberry aromas take it to a level above neutral, while the palate is just as clean and light, with apricot, peach and strawberry flavors. With some tang and good acidity, it shows freshness and persistence.

A hint of burnt leaves and compost draws down the bouquet, but overall this is a decent $9 wine. It’s crisp, acidic and a little stemmy, but amid the leanness it also has an appealing fresh quality that emphasizes red fruit, pepper and snap.

Aromas of strawberry, cassis and mocha are brought down a notch by vegetal notes, while the palate is heavier than the winery’s straight-ahead Tempranillo. Flavors of plum and boysenberry are chunky and quick to fade, and green notes reappear on the finish.

Jammy but structured red-fruit aromas mix with a little tree bark to create an attractive, wholesome bouquet. Hits with flavors of black plum and berry, and the Merlot adds some sweetness to the Tempranillo. Clean and fresh, with agility. Imported by Visentin Wine & Spirits, LLC.

Fairly sweet and fruity, with notes of raspberry jam and cotton candy on the bouquet. Feels nice across the palate, with tangy strawberry and red-cherry flavors leading to a fresh, wet, bright finish. A good but pedestrian wine at a reasonable price.

Sweet and ripe, with bubble gum and berry jam on the nose. Flavors of raspberry and blackberry are nice but narrow in scope, while the finish holds on to the fruit shown on the palate. Fruity but not very challenging.

This Navarran winery usually does well, but its ’02 Crianza isn’t up to snuff. The nose is clumsy and jammy, while the fruit is underdeveloped and dull. Acceptable on its best day.
