Sweet, fruity and much like you’ve seen many times before, this is a satisfying, nicely made fruitball with lots of oomph and admirable richness and balance. It’s young and grabby, but gets better with some airing. Good with ham and/or chorizo.

Spicy, bretty and leathery; this type of wine represents Ribera in a traditional, no-tricks light. Air only helps it show its best attributes, which revolve around meaty black fruit and herbal accents. It’s chewy, sort of tannic and finishes with flavors of moss and jerky. Good for near-term consumption.

A sweet, clumsy wine with gumball aromas in front of a funky palate that deals hints of vinegar and olives along with candied fruit flavors. Not a very good wine but drinkable.
