With rubber, earth and black-cherry aromas, you expect a bigger wine than you get. The fruit is a bit tart and veers toward red plum, raspberry and red currant. The mouthfeel is lean more than full, while the overall flavor impression is rather tart. If you’re wondering: Primitivo is a kissing cousin of Zinfandel.
