Smells funky, with sweaty leather aromas, although you’ll also find varietal notes of the grape. Tastes all right, with blackberries, currants, leather and mocha that are wrapped into firm tannins.

A very good wine from a vineyard within view of the chilly Pacific. Shows cool-climate acidity and long hangtime flavors of cherries, black raspberries, cola, mocha and spice, wrapped into a dry, silky mouthfeel.

Tastes very dry and hard in tannins despite being well more than four years of age. But there’s a heart of ripe black currants and blackberries that suggests ageability. Could throw sediment and turn generous with a few more years in the bottle.

This powerfully ripe, direct Chardonnay shows massive flavors of pineapples, nectarines, green apples, vanilla and oaky buttered toast, brightened with crisp, coastal acidity. Nice with scallops in a saffron and coconut cream sauce.

Acidic and harsh, with sweet and sour flavors of cherries and mocha, this wine has the benefit of dryness. Drink now.
