Offers aromas and flavors of cherry, cedar, licorice and menthol. The mouthfeel is even, full and supple, and the long, dry finish displays substantial tannins as well as earth and spice accents. Can be held for three to five years.

Closed now, but the impressive depth and richness of fruit and texture are still evident. Opens with aromas of black and blueberries, touches of carob and cinnamon. Chewy, yet smooth and polished, cocoa and espresso accent the subdued very dark cherry fruit. Shows dusty tannins and a leathery note on the long finish. Cellar til 2005.

Very dark espresso, leather and black plum aromas and flavors. The mouthfeel is full and balanced by good acidity. The very dry, long finish shows tar, licorice and bitter chocolate flavors, along with some tannins to shed. Time should allow the solid fruit to come from behind the lavish toast that now veils it.

Thick, almost impenetrable concentration sets the tone and is followed by dense, plush and youthful aromas of blueberry, cherries, sweet spice and almond paste. The wine has obviously experienced a sophisticated wood aging regimen and this has helped to shape its chewy consistency and firm tannins. It is blended with 10% Merlot.

The wood elements here are evident and result in seductive aromas of vanilla, spice and tobacco that co-exist with fresh red fruit, cherry and plum. It has chewy tannins and a tight mouthfeel that suggests a pairing with game or a hearty stew. This is a modern, blockbuster wine with 10% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

On the nose, creamy oak sits atop bright plum and raspberry fruit, followed by a friendly, fruity palate with just the right amount of toast, vanilla, mild tannins and sweetness. A mild, warm finish makes this an entirely quaffable Sangiovese.

Bright and intense berry aromas lead into a tart palate that runs heavy with pie cherry and leather. It’s probably a tad too tight, tart and hard to merit higher, but with food it should do the trick. Some dark black coffee notes on the finish add to the wine’s drying character.

Lush richness and velvety concentration set this wine apart from most Chianti Classico. The blend includes 15% Merlot (which is a lot) and you can really taste spice, chocolate fudge and black cherry. Determined oak notes reveal themselves in the mouth and add to the wine’s overall richness.

This Cabernet Sauvignon emphasizes delicate, feminine aromas that are rare to find in the variety. Small berry, toasted almond and herbs are buoyant and fresh. But Cabernet’s hearty character definitely comes through midpalate thanks to jackhammer tannins and thick concentration. Drink after 2012.
