A bright and very pretty wine that bursts with raspberry and plum aromas. The palate is finely balanced and clean as a whistle, and in general this small-production bottling represents the region gracefully, but with some kick and power. It only gets richer and more serious with airing. Drink 2012–2022.

More muscular and dark than its sibling Celia, with rich, jammy, sweet aromas of mocha and baked berries. It’s an oaky style that works due to the wine’s massive concentration and structure. It flows easily with no coarseness or roughness. Excellent and cut from the modern mold. Drink now–2018.

Opens with peppery, earthy black cherry and berry aromas, yet the palate is clacky and narrow, with high acidity and dry, limited flavors of blackberry and black cherry. Narrow as well on the finish. Middle-of-the road and respectable but hardly a head-turner.

Initiates with savory, mildly soupy aromas on top of berry fruit. The palate is plump, ripe and balanced, with mocha, coffee and dark, meaty berry flavors. Toasty, dry and very solid on the finish, and convincingly rich as a whole.
