Sweet, earthen nose with lovely aromas of peat, smoke, a touch of iron, coal; sweet and smooth in the mouth, soft and rich now at this age; lots of exotic spices; still has a strong statement of dry tannins and woody textures, but smooth and silky overall; good and classic at the end. (17/20)

Loaded with deep red fruit aromas, sweet and rich, earthen, spicy, floral, fresh lemon zest; sweet and rich, smooth, silky, textures; this is a complete wine; lots of ripe cherry fruit flavors mixed with earth tones; somewhat lighter but elegant; good tannic structure still; medium finish; a wonderful example of this wine. Sweet and rich nose, ripe and very dense but also floral and perfumed, lots of earth and terroir evident in the nose mixing with the pleasant scent of ripe black cherries; sweet and dense in the mouth; lots of red cherry flavors mixing with black cherries; powerful tannins create a core of dryness, but the finish is nicely balanced with sweet fruit and dry textures. (17/20)
