Shaded a light salmon-orange, scented with fresh-cut apple and a hint of green onion, herb and grass, this wine shows its Pinot side with pretty cherry candy fruit, and a simple, lightly candied finish.

With its aromas of fresh hay, this is strangely mature for such a young wine. It seems to already have reached the toast and butter stage, leaving most of its fresh fruit behind. It’s drinkable, but won’t keep.

Apleasant Champagne, but not one that sets the world alight. The fruit has a touch of apples, some toast and a slight sweetness to finish that verges on clumsy. Imported by Vranken America.

A yellow straw shade, with a somewhat beery, sulphury scent. It’s better in the mouth, where it’s spicy and yeasty. But the beery quality persists right through the finish. It leaves a slightly sour flavor long after being swallowed, like a bite of sourdough bread.

Quite foamy and shaded toward very pale salmon/copper, this young wine tastes of green apples, spice, wild strawberry and cherry candy. It’s pretty, clean and light, but thins out a bit quickly.

Really nicely balanced, this is a big, sleek cruiser with lemon, earth and green-apple aromas and flavors. Full, yet trim and clean, it shows the tautness of youth but has fine essential fruit and a lengthy, crisp finish. Possesses excellent, if somewhat unopened elements, and may well rate higher if cellared for a few years
