Dominated by char and the dilly, sharp scent of new American oak, although beneath that is some rich apple and pear fruit. The texture is creamy, acidity high in this otherwise nice wine, except for that opening aroma.

Smells Porty and raisiny, with an underlying fruity note of cherry-raspberry jam. Despite the sweet smell the wine is fully dry, but also very hot, at 15.3 percent alcohol. A bit thin in flavor, and the high acidity feels unnatural.
