Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Hard to get excited about this exceptionally high-alcohol wine. Just shy of 17%, it tastes glyceriney sweet and soft, and even seems to have residual sugar. Will thrill fans of red dessert wines.

Smells reduced, and tastes hard and dry in tannins, with the berry flavors tamped down. A Bordeaux blend with Zinfandel and Syrah.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This blend of Cab, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel is a good, everyday wine for drinking with burgers, tacos and similar fare. It’s dry and fruity and spicy, with a finish long in currants and licorice.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Powerful and oaky, a wine that’s currently a bit too massive for balance. Shows strong flavors of ripe blackberries and mulberries, influenced by smoky oak and wrapped into hard tannins. Could mellow after 2010, but no guarantees.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
It’s a little soft, but it sure is good and rich, offering waves of blackberries, cherries, currants, licorice and sandalwood, with a spicy, dry finish. Easy to like, and complex enough for upscale fare. Drink now.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A solid Cabernet, nice and dry, with firm tannins framing blackberry, black currant, olive tapenade and cedar flavors. Feels a bit sharp, but otherwise a good effort.
