Sweaty and sharp on the nose, with punchy, oily, green aromas. The palate is wet and basic in feel, with nettle, grapefruit and passionfruit flavors. Good in terms of core qualities but not all that intense or layered. A basic wine for general consumption.

Spunky and bright in terms of its aromatics, with musky lime and mineral notes. The palate is both juicy and round, with lemon, lime and piercing, pithy citrus flavors. Citric, sheering and foxy on the finish, and exceedingly cleansing.

Heavily roasted aromas of popcorn and hot earth eventually yield to coffee but never unmask much fruit. The palate does carry some plum and berry, but the acid level seems elevated. Aloof and hard to process. Seventy percent Cabernet Sauvignon with 30% Carmenère.

Opens with heavy aromas of earth, compost and baked fruit. The palate has a corresponding heaviness and sweet, roasted, buttery black-fruit flavors. Sticky and oaky on the finish, with lasting sweetness and some bitterness. Chunky and clunky, but not a bad wine.

This pricey, low production Cab hails from the lower slopes of Spring Mountain, and shares that region’s terroir in the hard, firm tannins and stony minerality that undergirds the cassis, cherry and cedar flavors. Very fine in structure, polished and focused, it will blossom this year, and age well for many more.

A little mealy on the nose, with apple and melon aromas poking through. The palate is both pithy and sharp, with citric acids providing the basis for grapefruit and orange flavors. Pithy on the finish, with passionfruit notes.

Big, muscular and herbal, with olive, spice and driving black fruit aromas. The acidity is high-toned and elevated, so the palate is jumpy and electric, with raspberry and currant flavors. Delivers a jolt and tang, but overall the flavors and harmony are good.

Honeyed on the nose and palate, with mild citrus and green qualities like nettle and lime. The feel is kind of soft for Casablanca SB, and the flavors seem more tropical and sweet than they should be. Finishes soft, pithy and sweet.

It was amazing strait out of the bottle as well as after decanting for several hours. I think this is one of the best Napa cabs that you can get.
