A tawny-blush color, a prettily-scented wine redolent of apples and pears, this is a tasty, no-frills bottle of slightly spicy, tart white wine perfect for the deck or porch. Best Buy.

Ripe, forward scents of plums and apricots. This is concentrated but not syrupy, fleshy and ripe but not cloying or too sweet. Delicious sipping wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A Sangiovese-Cabernet blend that captures the firmness of Yakima valley Cabernet, without the veggies. The Sangio really smoothes it out, giving it a much softer mouthfeel, with traces of leaf, coffee grounds and fresh, moist earth.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
From Minick Family estate vineyards, this intense and thrilling Riesling has a Germanic 8.5% alcohol and 5.5% residual sugar balance, yet with acids so vivid and juicy that its sweetness is completely counterbalanced. Loaded with spicy pear and tart tangerine fruit flavors, it’s a penetrating, dense and highly refreshing wine that explores a style that is both complex and user friendly.

This Yakima Valley bottling highlights fresh herbs and sharp, juicy pear and apple fruit flavors. The vivid fruit is racy and tightly defined, and seems to gather strength and focus as it sits in the mouth. A splendid effort that really sets the standard for Washington Pinot Gris.

This is the winery’s best white, and a standout Pinot Gris for Washington. You’ll find more pear than apple flavor here, with light melon also. The wine feels and tastes of lees, and plenty of crisp skin tannins that put a clean edge on it. Nothing fancy, just well-ripened fruit and clean winemaking.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Willow Crest is a Yakima Valley grower, bottling a few cases of wine under their own label. Syrah is clearly a strength. This is a dark, spicy bottle showing classic varietal fruit and coffee scents. Mocha, cocoa and some pleasant herbal elements add interest, but the star is the fruit, which is dense and powerful.

It takes a moment or two for this tight, herbal wine to unwind in the glass. Once it unwraps a bit it’s a delight, with pleasing flavors of green olive, leaf and herb along with ripe, plummy fruit, coffee and chocolate. There’s lots of acid, balanced and smooth tannins, and a long, persistent finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is Willow Crest’s first bottling of Merlot; it’s quite good and substantial. Full-flavored and fleshy, it retains the grip of cooler- climate Merlot, without turning vegetal. There is a clear scent of mint, and after the tart red fruits, the wine finishes with a chocolate mint wafer kiss.
