From the land of old-vine Zinfandel, this one pours out more concentration than its price would suggest. It’s rich on the palate and offers ripe black cherry at the core. Smoke, vanilla and licorice flavors follow suit, though it’s somewhat bitter on the end. Still, at this price, Windmill Zin shines brightly.

Jammy and soft, with cherry and vanilla flavors that hang just this side of flabby. Picks up attractive brown sugar and caramel notes on the tangy finish.

Decent everyday Zin, dry and spicy, with rich tannins and ripe dark berry, coffee and tobacco flavors veering into bitter dark chocolate. Nice with pasta in a tomato sauce.
