A rather earthy and closed wine, and pretty tannic, too. There are some blackberry flavors but the mouthfeel is tough, and the finish turns astringent. May benefit from five years of aging.

Take last night’s Syrah, pour some water into it, and bottle. That’s what this wine tastes like. There are echoes of blackberries and plums, in a stale, tannic package.
