A solid little wine, with a smoky black raspberry and plum jam nose leading to a palate of mixed berry pie accented with violet top notes. Medium-bodied, with tame tannins. Hard to do better at this price. Great choice to accompany steak from a charcoal grill. Drink up.

Black plum and berry fruit aromas and flavors are ripe and fairly deep, especially considering this wine's value price. A easy-drinking Shiraz with unexpected but pleasing tannins on the finish. A good by-the-glass pour, and a "I can't believe this is $10" conversation starter at your next large gathering.

A pillowy and tropical Chard that doesn’t get sloppy soft or overly tart and hard. Toasted marshmallow, pineapple and banana aromas; lightly caramelized pineapple dusted with cinnamon flavors. Finishes with a smoky edge. Best Buy.

Light in both weight and concentration, the 222 is a good choice if it’s an easy, cold quaff that you’re looking for. It’s tropical and creamy on the nose, but shows lighter, fresher notes of white stone fruit, particularly pear, and lime. Finishes with more lime.

This light- to medium-weight wine features a bouquet of berry and earth aromas and mature Cabernet flavors. The wood doesn’t overwhelm, but the mouthfeel is slightly prickly and astringent, and the fruit doesn’t really sing. Closes with mild tobacco notes.

This entry-level Shiraz is made in a ready-to-drink, supple style, with earthy, coffee-like aromas and flavors of blackberry, leather and spice. It makes a good introduction to Aussie Shiraz.

A lovely nose with plum, cassis and notes of roasted coffee is followed by a lush, chewy mouthfeel. The ripe fruit flavors are ample and soft with cherries, plums, berries and roasted nuts blanketing the palate. Clearly this 1997 has benefited from extended aging. Enjoy it over the next two to five years.
