Annie's Friends Recent Notes
One of California's finest pinot noirs. Deep burgundy in color, raspberry, black cherry, and blackberry flavors abound. Everlasting finish. Delicious!
Golden yellow in color, gentle oaknotes on the nose, vibrant acidity on the finish. Creamy, with hints of banana. Perfect #chardonnay for #chardonnayday.
LIked this very much. Solid example of a quality Napa Cap. Very good with a hearty red meat meal, I'd definitely have this again.
Crisp SB- great Thursday afternoon find.
What a tasty, grenache-based Rhône. In spite of being solely a "villages" designated wine, it really delivers. Red cherry in color, this wine offers an expressive, feminine nose, with classic Rhône “spice” and weight. Net-net, this wine can work with fish or poultry as well as steak – making it a perfect pairing for Michael Minna’s “taco night” recipe with which we paired it on this week’s filming of Cook.Taste.Eat.
Very round but surprisingly balanced white.
This would make a great 1st anniversary wine , as I expect it should be peaking and at it's best by then.
A vibrant white burgundy, fresh bouquet of yellow apples and nectarines, offering classic limestone minerality, and textbook rich mouthfeel, with a pleasing finish. A delicious wine, as one would expect when imported by Jonathan Shiekman.
There are few wines in life that are hard to forget; Calera's 1990 Pinot is one of them. In spite of being over 20 years old, beautiful fruit character shined through. Stewed cherries with hints of rhubarb made this a perfect sip for our team holiday event for 2012!
Absolutley delicious Chateauneuf- the perfect pairing to a hearty dinner of meatloaf and baked potatoes on election night.
