Napa Cellars Sauvignon Blanc - 2012

What a tasty, grenache-based Rhône. In spite of being solely a "villages" designated wine, it really delivers. Red cherry in color, this wine offers an expressive, feminine nose, with classic Rhône “spice” and weight. Net-net, this wine can work with fish or poultry as well as steak – making it a perfect pairing for Michael Minna’s “taco night” recipe with which we paired it on this week’s filming of Cook.Taste.Eat.

A vibrant white burgundy, fresh bouquet of yellow apples and nectarines, offering classic limestone minerality, and textbook rich mouthfeel, with a pleasing finish. A delicious wine, as one would expect when imported by Jonathan Shiekman.

There are few wines in life that are hard to forget; Calera's 1990 Pinot is one of them. In spite of being over 20 years old, beautiful fruit character shined through. Stewed cherries with hints of rhubarb made this a perfect sip for our team holiday event for 2012!

No better way to toast Baby A's first month's birthday than with a bottle of wine in her namesake! Cuvee Audrey chardonnay by Talbott Vineyards is medium-bodied and offers great stone fruit notes of nectarine and white peach, with pronounced acidity.

The perfect bottle with which to toast the arrival of Audrey Margaret Morris (6 lbs, 15.5 ounces, 19.5 inches) on Sept. 12, 2012, @ 12:09 pm! Tasting note: perfect brioche character, silky body, and long, lingering finish. Baby note: cherubic face, long, slender frame, pipes of an opera singer, mitts of a piano or tennis star.
