Q1: Where did you grow up?

A1: Pearland, Texas

Q2: What was the first time you remember drinking wine?

A2: In 1996 my folks went to Napa and brought back a case of 1994 St. Supery Cabernet.

Q3: When did you start to like wine?

A3: I tasted the 1994 St. Supery Cabernet, and I was in love.

Q4: Where do you drink wine mostly?

A4: Fine restaurants and home.

Q5: What are your favorite types of wine? Varietals? Regions?

A5: Cabernet Sauvignon (California, Washington State); Cabernet Franc (Virginia); Syrah (California, Virginia); Pinot Noir (California, Burgundy); Merlot (California, Virginia, Bordeaux); Chardonnay (California, Virginia, Burgundy); Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand, California, France); Italian reds; Spanish reds; Malbec from Argentina.

Q6: What are your favorite kinds of food?

A6: Mexican, Italian, steak and salmon.

Q7: What are your favorite restaurants?

A7: Mike's Bar and Grill (Springfield, Virginia); Bonefish Grill (Alexandria, Virginia); Perry's Steakhouse (Houston, Texas); Maggiano's (Chicago, Illinois)--All fine restaurants.

Q8: What is your favorite wine and food pairing?

A8: Steak and bold reds.

Q9: Do you cook? If so, what kind of food and for whom?

A9: Yes, I grill mostly: Steak, Chicken, Sausage. I love make pasta dishes.

Q10: If you were stranded on a desert island, what one type of food/wine would choose to have?

A10: Steak from Perry's Steakhouse in Houston (filet mignon) and Tenuta del Portale Riserva (2004) from the Basilicata region of Italy.

Q11: What are your favorite wine memories?

A11: Wine fests in Germany, Italy, and France... and more recently, Virginia, where the wines are coming along nicely.

Q12: Do you have any wine-related disasters?

A12: Only the one in my head when I've had too much.

Q13: Which are your favorite Bottlenotes wines?

A13: Too many good wines.
