Very fruity but yet very well balanced with the acidity. Leaves a very pleasant after taste in your mouth. All in all, a very enjoyable wine that can go well with a meal or stand alone.
Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc absolutely rocks. Ultra "kiwi" with notes of passionfruit and kiwi kiwi kiwi- it still deliversa beginning/middle/end rarely found in an NZ wine. Delicious.
Lovely nose of black cherry that evolves into a sinewy palate of earth and stewed cherries. Delicious wine. Perfect choice for my birthday celebration. Feelvery fortunate to have such fabulously generous, wine-loving friends!
This is delicious and is like biting into an apple. Would pair beautifully with a carmel covered green apple just in time for Fall. The color is a very pale yellow and has a nice smooth finish.
I agree with the tasting note on this wine- that it showed great black fruit notes (blackberry, not plum) with red fruit undertones (strawberry/rhubarb for me). Delicious wine- perfect with the steak/salad that was served alongside it!
Expectedly intense mountain Merlot. A hint of pomegranate on the nose, velvety tannins evolve into notes of black cherry, dark chocolate, and black tea. Probably the best merlot I’ve enjoyed all year.
I love a super luscious, floral and aromaticwhite wine on a Friday afternoon- and this fit the bill! There must be a high dose of residual sugar in this wine as it was particularly sweet- but perfect for me.
Big, luscious, spicy red- quintessential Argentine Malbec. Perfect pairing for heavy holiday hors d'oeuvres like baked brie, spinach and artichoke dip, etc.
After tasting Saxon Brown's Parmelee Hill Vineyard Pinot, it made me want to try a lot more wines from this special parcel of land. As winemaker Jeff Gaffner described it to me, the afternoon winds roll in like clockwork here, helping to provide that perfect "cool" environment in which Pinot thrives not just in the mornings but the afternoons. These unique climactic conditions combined with delicate handling of the grapes made for smooth, elegant Pinot, with some classic California black cherry notes, underscored by a hint of Burgundian leanness and minerality. These tasty Pinots stood out to me in the sea of wine at Family Winemakers in San Francisco this month.
Surprising green olive notes on the nose; fainty ruby rim, deep Burgundy color, though somewhattranslucent. Expected black pepper notes on the palate from this New Zealand red.
