Most Recent Tasting Note:
Usually I approach Shiraz with trepidation, because it can just be too alcoholic and extracted for my taste. But I was pleasantly surprised with the Pretty Sally. It's just really well made and shows great varietal character. Visual: deep brown-ruby core with medium ruby-pink rim; slow tearing due to high alcohol Nose: developing aromas of spicy meats, plum, baked cherry, campfire smoke, dried herbs, tobacco, stewed strawberry, licorice, toast, vanilla, pepper, cinnamon, raisin & nuts Palate: some pronounced tannin and alcohol, but not overbearing. Rich flavors of plum, blackberry, raisins, toffee, caramel, raspberry, blueberry. The finish is long and toasty with black fruit nuances. Very smooth. Evidence of oak being used well!! 2 Notes
