Wine Lover's Spa

Wine Lover's Spa
Grape seed scrubs, vino facials and grape massages, oh my

winespaYou can drink your wine, or you can have it slathered all over your body at a luxury spa in Manhattan. In fact, the way Caudalíe at the Plaza Hotel is set up…you can do both.

This dimly-lit, purpled-hued, vine-decorated heavenly space has 14 treatment rooms and offerings like the Crushed Cabernet Scrub, the Pulpe Friction, the Wine Makers Massage, the Barrel Bath and a selection of facials that begin with the word Vino – like the Vinolift 50 or Vinosource, a purifying facial.

Every treatment has a wine theme, and the products, which are sold online or at Sephora, are made from vines and fruit from owner’s winery in Bordeaux, Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte.

And once you’re scrubbed, soothed and relaxed, you can sit down in the spa lounge, aptly named The French Paradox, and enjoy grapes, snacks, and glasses of wine. Two of the chateau’s Bordeaux wines are served: Les Hauts de Smith and La Petite Lafitte.

The New York Spa opened in 2008; and the Vinothérapie products have been available since 1995 in Bordeaux, Versailles and Spain.

Have you ever tried grape-based beauty products and if so what’s your favorite? Tell us below.
