Wine And Tennis: Perfectly Paired For The Australian Open
Sip something delicious from down under as tennis all-stars battle it out on the courts.

tennis-racketsIn case you didn't know or haven't had time to catch up with your DVR, the Australian Open has been going down for the last 10 days and it's been nothing but jam packed excitement!

Maria Sharapova beat Ekaterina Makarova 6-2, 6-3, who beat five-time champion Serena Williams in the previous round. Additionally, Petra Kvitova beat Sara Errani in straight sets which will advance her to the Australian Open semifinals.Roger Federer eased into the semifinals with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 win over Juan Martin Del Potro, and will face Nadal for the 27th time for an epic battle in the semifinals.

One of the best ways to enjoy the excitement of The Open from the comfort of your couch is to skim the Australia wine guide the Tennis Channel has created to find a wine perfectly paired for the upcoming matches. It's also a great way to celebrate Australia Day and while you’re at it, give a toast to the Tennis Channel’s newest commentator, two-time US Open winner and Hall of Famer, Tracy Austin.

Austin will join fellow Hall of Famer, Martina Navratilova, and sportscaster Bill Macatee in Melbourne this year for the network’s coverage of the Grand Slam Competition.

Australia is lovely place to visit and is a continent full of adventure and excitement. The country has a history of producing some of the world’s finest wine and athletes so be sure to enjoy both as the Australian Open continues to pump out prime time entertainment.

Cheers mates!
