A Lot of Funny in One Place

A Lot of Funny in One Place
Quirky show, quirky wines

portlandia-wine-glass-19443p_05There were a lot of funny people under one roof at the premiere party for the hit IFC show Portlandia. Besides the show’s cast, and a slew of Saturday Night Live cast members, hundreds of others braved the cold to attend the bash at the Museum of Natural History in New York City.

Jack McBrayer (Kenneth from 30 Rock), Fred Armisen, Andy Samberg, and Lorne Michaels were just a few of the attendees.

During the screening, two burning questions went through some of our minds: Is Seth Meyers as cute in person as he is on TV and will they serve Oregon wine at the after party?

Yes, more! And yes.

Fitting the quirkiness of this offbeat comedy, the wine served was from small, unique Oregon producers. To wit:

Firesteed Oregon Pinot Noir 2009 (Oregon) $14 This fruity pinot with hints of leather and spice is made with grapes sourced from regions throughout Oregon.

The Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Gris (Willamette Valley, Oregon) $16 This dry yet creamy white claims to have introduced pinot gris to the United States, first producing it in 1970.
