Art, Wine And Parties
Your lounge access
The fabulously fabulous dropped into Art Basel Miami Beach [this past weekend] to, well, party their…art off. Michael Douglas, Will Smith, Moby and Paris Hilton were reportedly spotted there, rocking the town. While most regular people were star searching and art viewing, Bottlenotes popped around label seeking.
With some five parties a night taking place, it was impossible to cover them all. But we did get a sneak peak into the ultra-high end lounges in the convention center, where the wine was poured during the day.
To get an invite to put your feet up courtesy of UBS, your cash holdings at the bank had to be in the $10 million range. Once you meet that bar, a full bar in the lounge of all lounges was yours for the drinking.
Flowing freely:
Chalone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009 (Monterey County, USA)
Sterling Vineyard Merlot 2008 (Napa Valley, USA)
Sterling Vineyard Chardonnay 2009 (Napa Valley, USA)
Stellina di Notte Pinto Grigio 2009 (Delle Venezio, Italy)
The collector’s lounge was for VIPS, but not VIP enough to have free drinks. Dwellers could buy a glass or bottle of the show’s official Champagne: Ruinart Brut Champagne Blanc de Blancs NV (Reims, France).
From the nightlife files, the Andy Warhol Museum party at the W Hotel served only Nicholas Feuillatte Brut Rose and Brut Champagne ¼ Bottles NV (Reims, France)…and Becks Beer, with a variety of Warhol shots on the bottle.
