From the Warrior Dash to Wine

From the Warrior Dash to Wine
Enjoy gourmet food

screen_shot_2012-07-10_at_11.01.20_amThe great music festivals of Busch Light, mystery meals, and mystery smells are not coming to an end. However, one musical weekend looks poised to flip that paradigm on its head. Firefly Music Festival, scheduled for July 20-22, will bring hot air balloon rides, gourmet food, “glamping,” craft beer, and local wines to The Woodlands at Dover International Speedway in Delaware.

The brainchild of Red Frog Events, a powerhouse in the fit entertainment industry, Firefly is a bold new venture from a company better known for the Warrior Dash, an obstacle-filled 5K mud-run that has become the world’s largest running series.

Rather than Viking helmets and barbed wire, Red Frog is adding an atypical twist of luxury. The Brewery, an on-site air-conditioned pub, will serve beers from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, including Firefly Ale, a custom English-style pale ale made exclusively for the festival. Interestingly, The Vineyard, Firefly’s wine bar, will only pour East Coast wines—the list has not been released, but we’re voting for some offerings from New Jersey.

Music festivals are famous for their aromas, and we’re glad one or two will finally come from a glass of vino.
