Food and Wine Tours from South America to South Africa
BKWine offers two new tours for 2013

napa-bike-tours_400If you’re a wine enthusiast, you may have visited some of the most famous wine-producing areas of France or California. But have you ever taken a bike ride through them?

There are many great bike tour companies around the globe-- too many to list in one quick Sip. Bottlenotes’ CEO Alyssa Rapp enjoyed a bike tour through Bordeaux many moons ago organized by The Chain Gang, a British bike-touring company that focuses on gourmet experiences in France and Italy. (Learn more about The Chain Gang here.) TripSite.com is also a great resource for a wide range of bike-tours throughout Europe, some that include wine.

We at The Daily Sip® also recently learned that as of 2013, BKWine Tours will be adding South Africa, Chile and Argentina, to its roster of wine-tasting biking experiences. These trips are in addition to tours BKWine Tours already conducts, including trips to destinations like to Bordeaux, Champagne, and Tuscany.

The tour of Chile and Argentina takes place February 4-19, 2013, and centers on the wines and gastronomy of the two countries. Participants will explore many wineries tasting excellent foods and wines along the way, as well as visiting locations like Buenos Aires, Santiago, and the Andes Mountains. More information, the itinerary, and associated costs are available here.

From March 1-11, 2013, BKWine Tours offers a wine and food tour of South Africa. This tour includes gourmet meals, world-class wines at over a dozen wineries, and visits to wine districts like Stellenbosch and Durbanville. Also scheduled are trips to famous sights like the Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain. More information, the itinerary, and associated costs are available here.

Both tours are guided and tutored by Britt Karlsson, the founder of BKWine and an expert on wines from around the world.

The South America trip is capped at 22 participants, and the South Africa trip at 20.
